I'll overwhelm 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.

Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the novice continues to be one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly happening.
