Automobiles in Germany's City Found Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Police stated they were alerted by a man who noticed a vehicle in Hanau smeared with red-colored liquid

Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a release.

Law enforcement say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish substance.

The fluid had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they reported.

Officers then located numerous other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Police state initial examinations indicate the fluid was most likely human blood.

"At present there remains no lead as to its source; investigators are not yet informed of any harm in association with the event," they commented.

Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to unravel the case" and have appealed to the residents for tips.

A high-ranking political figure commented the incident made him speechless and needed to be resolved promptly.

"This incident hits the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, recalling the killing of nine victims by a assailant aiming at residents of migrant background in 2020.
